Yard Party

Special thanks to the
Levingstons for watching our monsters for us. I'm sorry they were monsters.

Friday
was Harvard’s 375th anniversary, and you (as were we) are probably pretty curious to see how the oldest institution of higher learning in the United States celebrates the big 3-7-5.

Here’s a glimpse.

Ice sculptures. Ice cream demonstrations by the Food & Science students. Tents. House Pride. A giant cake made by Flour (who else?). Cider Presses pressing. Apple cider (of course). Chocolate fountains. Free ponchos. Costumes. Yummy chocolate truffles. Living art. Band playing. Dance Performance. Students parading.

The Statue of Three Lies tribute

As you can see, it was raining. A LOT. Very muddy, we are pretty sure the Yard is ruined. I’ll have to ask Mike to take pictures on Tuesday. Despite the rain, it was a great night. I mean, if there is anyone I’d like to get stranded under an umbrella with it is, for sure, Michael. : )

We also stumbled upon a defaced Harvard legend:
Pooh’s house.

Yes, Harvard campus is as quirky as its student body.

Read more about Pooh’s house here.

To read about the crime go here.

To see a picture before the vandalism go here.

Happy Birthday, Harvard.
We hope we won’t be around to attend your 400th bash.
(no offense)

How Do You Measure - Measure Half A Year?

Answer:
2.5 inches.... and love. I guess. (I don't really like Rent.)

Speaking of growing bodies!
I saw this craft on Pinterest and had to duplicate with Caleb. (haha, if you thought I was pregnant- gotcha!) It was a fun lesson and craft. Caleb really got into it and liked gluing all the bones on to the paper! We talked about bones and watched songs and Sesame Street-related material on Youtube.
You make the ribcage/spine/pelvis/shoulders by folding a piece of paper in half and writing your child's name in cursive and cutting it out.
Voila! Just in time for Halloween!

Project Semi-annual, October 2011

Waiting in line at the library for the book sale Saturday.
Sadly they have raised their prices. : {

Marné and Jess (and Kennedy).
I pulled out my camera to get a capturing-conversation shot, but Jess has some type of sixth sense for lenses. Look at that glamorous smile!... And Marné's... sparkling.... personality! (Just kidding, I love you, Né!)

Boxes of books, books for me!

Me sneaking a piece of popcorn before it cools.
Nate taking notes.

Our new favorite General Conference game? Spot Ben! Did you see him? :)

v Caleb was pretty excited this year for Conference!

See you in April!
